To be frank, it's probably never totally okay to approach a stranger to take your photo, but we've all been there and done that, regardless of that slight guilt we feel in our stomachs. However, you can definitely try make things easier on yourself and sound friendlier by using some of the following examples.

二、尋求幫助的小撇步 Tips for Getting Help

1. Look around. 四處看看

Usually, when you need help with taking a picture, you're probably around a tourist attraction or a place where a lot of other people are busy taking pictures. Find someone who is in the same situation as you: looking a little frustrated from failed picture attempts.

2. Offer to snap a picture for them first. 先幫別人拍照

When you are in a popular tourist attraction area, it's extremely highly possible that you’re not the only one looking for help with pictures. It's also smart (and polite) to offer to take one for them first.

當你在一個熱門的旅遊景點時，很有可能你不會是唯一一個需要請求別人幫忙拍照的人。所以先伸手幫別人拍照算也是一件蠻聰明且有禮貌的方法。

3. Set the lighting and give as much direction as possible. 設定好亮度及給予完整的指示

If you're a picky person when it comes to photos, then make your life (and theirs) easier by setting things up for them first. Lighting, exposure, aperture, and anything technical that most people may not understand.

While the article provides help with mostly verbal communication, you should also know that your body language can do a lot of work for you. For example, if you're having trouble taking a satisfying selfie, your frustrated looked will probably be seen by some people, and by the time you open your mouth to ask them if they can take the picture for you, they'll probably already know what you need. If they don't want to help you out, they will probably have already left or looked away, but if they maintain eye contact, they likely won't mind. However, make sure to read their body language! If they look like they're busy or in a rush, that's a big sign to find someone else.
